Dan Bowyer is currently the Principal of Toronto eLearning School. Dan served for 35 years with the Peel District School Board as a History and Visual Arts teacher, eventually becoming a School Administrator in Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga. Dan was the First Vice President of the Ontario History and Social Science Teachers’ Association for over twenty years, is an International Baccalaureate History of the Americas teacher and even managed to find time to coach his schools’ Men’s and Women’s Field Lacrosse teams. A ten year plus Executive Member with the Brampton Excelsior Lacrosse Club, Dan also volunteers at the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum in St. Catharines, Ontario as a Member of their Accessions Committee and as their Lacrosse Historian. Dan also played on and coached the Scarborough College Men’s Lacrosse team while he was a student there in the ‘70s.
Lately Dan has taken on additional volunteer responsibilities, becoming a Member of the University of Toronto Scarborough College Campus Council, a Member of the UTSC Alumni Association Executive, a Member of the UTSC Academic Advisory Committee, an Executive Member of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education Alumni Association, a Member of the the University of Toronto College of Electors, a Member of the Governing Council’s Nominating Committee for Alumni Governors, a Member of the Governing Council’s Academic Board and their Striking Committee, a Member of the Academic Policy and Programs Committee, the Secretary for the Ontario Numismatic Association and finally as an Executive Member of Sinfonia Toronto. Dan likes to keep busy.
